Having met whilst working on board the P & O Cruise Liner Sea Princess in 1991, Liz and I moved to dry land on the Isle of Purbeck in 1994 from where Liz originates, but is a long way from my home county of Cumbria. We married and started our family, first with Mollie, who came along in 1998, and then Tom two years later in 2000.
We made the decision to buy our own hotel whilst the children were still young and in February 2001 we found the White House just forty miles along the coast from where we were living at the time. We fell in love with the building and the area and after a few frantic weeks found ourselves the owners of this beautiful Regency building the following April.
Since then we have redecorated the building from top to bottom both inside and out, whilst we hope retaining the character and charm of the house itself. All bathrooms have been refurbished and new furniture has been added throughout.
However, a Hotel is more than just a well-appointed building. We are fortunate to have working alongside us some very hardworking and friendly staff. Most have been with us for over three years now and understand exactly what we are trying to achieve here, which we can sum up as follows...
