The White House is our beautiful four bedroomed Regency Villa in the centre of the coastal village of Charmouth. Surrounded on three sides by the glorious West Dorset countryside and the sea to the south, we are just a five minute walk to the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic coastline and its famous fossil beach. Just two miles from Lyme Regis, five miles from River Cottage and six miles along the coast from West Bay (aka Broadchurch), there are a wealth of places to discover and explore in this area of outstanding natural beauty. We have a private car park to the rear of the hotel through an entrance which can be a little narrow for the largest cars. There is also a private parking space at the front and free on street parking on the road right opposite the hotel.

Please note our restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday most weeks. Occasionally if there are no advanced bookings we may not offer dinner on these nights. Should you wish to reserve a table for dinner, it is best to let us know at time of booking.

For the fourth year running we have been awarded GOLD in the annual Taste of the West Awards in both restaurant and B&B categories. We are absolutely delighted with this. We really are committed to providing the highest standards of comfort and service we can at The White House so to receive recognition like this from such a well respected organisation as Taste of the West is really fantastic for both Liz and I and our team Hannah and Tracey.

Taste of the West Cook Book
We have been paired with Capreolus Fine Foods based at Rampisham near Bridport to produce a recipe for an upcoming Taste of the West Cook Book which will be on sale later this year.
David and Karen at Capreolus produce outstanding cured meats, all locally sourced, often from rare breed animals. Their artisan charcuterie is incredibly good. Do have a good look at their website, there is some amazing stuff . There is a mail order service to the UK, so treat yourselves to something outstandingly good from Dorset! You wont regret it ......and very soon they will also be producing their own smoked fish.
